Reminder local road closures

The M5 junction 14 will be closed including  the entry and exit slip roads and B4509 for refurbishment work on the above dates.  This is the second weekend of the schools half term.

Traffic will be diverted via the A38 but access will be maintained for emergency vehicles only.

This is work being completed by National Highways.

In addition, Charfield Road more locally known as the Tortworth Road will also be closed in conjunction with this work from the A38 junction to the bottom of Tortworth Hill for the same period.

The diversion uses Latteridge Road to accommodate HGV traffic but it may be a simpler diversion for cars to come off the A38 at Tytherington Road/Stidcot Lane and on to the B4058.

Update on M5 roadworks

Major works at the Almondsbury Interchange will have an impact on this area, including a weekend closure of junction 14.

There is an extensive overnight resurfacing programme on the A38 that will run untill December but South Gloucestershire Council will suspend this during the junction 14 weekend closure as National Highways have designated the A38 as the diversion route.

South Gloucestershire Council are liaising with National Highways to ensure that the traffic signals are monitored on the junction and that extensive signage is displayed particularly to prevent HGVs using the B4509.
